UzLiDeP discusses financing of parties
Members of the party, UzLiDeP faction at the Legislative Chamber, representatives of the state structures, Ministry of Finance, Accounts Chamber, State Tax Committee participated in the event.
It was noted that the volume of financing of the political parties in Uzbekistan from the state budget is based on number of seats, won in the result of parliamentary elections.
The participants underlined that current legislation on financing of political parties fully meets international standards and requirements. In line with the legislation, the political parties, which won enough seats for form faction at the Legislative Chamber, can receive funds from the state budget. The volume of the resources is based on number of seats, won in the parliament, to finance their activities.
The seminar underlined that the recent elections to the parliament and local Councils of People’s Deputies showed that the parties have all opportunities to promote and realize their programmes, protect interests of the voters.
The participants noted that the public and parliamentary control play important role in financing the parties in Uzbekistan to ensure openness and transparency, as well as equality of the political parties. The parties provide necessary information on their financing to their members and public.
On 13 March, the Legislative Chamber held a meeting to discuss annual financial reports of the political parties. The leaders of the parties provided reports to the MPs.
At the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to further developing of recommendation on improving control-analytical activity of the Central control-revision commission of UzLiDeP over bodies of the party and primary organizations, as well revision of their financial activities.
