UzLiDeP: A bright future under far-sighted guidance of Islam Karimov
On the eve of the presidential elections the press service of UzLiDeP had a talk with activist of UzLiDeP, Head of the farm "Sharmgaz" in Kegeyli region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan Sh. Razzakov, who shared his view about the forthcoming elections and noted the following:
- When people talk about the current state of the farmers’ movement, I always remember the slogan “What we were and who we are”. 25 years ago in the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan had Soviet system with planned economy, administrative control system and monopoly of cotton production which destructively impacted on the economy, environment and gene pool of the population of Uzbekistan.
That is way, I am proud of cardinal changes implemented during the years of independence in agriculture. As the result farmers’ movement has become a major producer of agricultural products and the strong social and political force capable of taking responsibility for the further development of the agricultural and other related sectors and industries.
Therefore, the representatives of farmers’ movement have chosen the continuation of agricultural reform, which has always been in the focus of Islam Karimov. This choice is due to the fact that the candidate of UzLiDeP clearly sets the key issues and their solutions. In particular the continuation of the reform of agriculture, the continuation of irrigation and drainage works, improve the fertility and productivity of land, the introduction of most modern agricultural technologies, and development farmers’ movement to a new level.
In the upcoming March 29 presidential elections I like thousands of representatives of the agricultural sector will vote for Islam Karimov and for the continuation of current reforms aimed at economic development and further improving the welfare of population”.
