Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 9 March 2017 No.-PP-2822, the Program for increasing the volume of hydrocarbon production for 2017-2021 is being implemented.

As part of the program, the Gazli oil and gas production department is building the 6th string at the Uchkir unit for gas purification from sulfur.

The Gazli oil and gas production department has 3 installations for gas purification from sulfur compounds with a total capacity of 1.5 billion cubic meters, commissioned in 1980. Currently, in their place, the construction of the 6th line is underway, which will provide modern quality indicators.

With the commissioning of the 6th string of the gas purification unit from sulfur compounds, the processing natural gas will meet the requirements of the sulfur quality standard in terms of O’zDst 948: 2016.

For the construction of the 6th line of the gas purification plant, 50 devices have been supplied at present, the general condition of construction is 59.2%.

At the same time, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 9 January 2020 No.-PP-4563, an investment project is being implemented to build a propane-butane mixture production unit at the Uchkir unit for gas purification from sulfur in the amount of 49.4 million dollars.

Through the implementation of the project, 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas will be processed per year and production of up to 80.0 thousand tons of propane-butane mixture and 37.5 thousand tons of gas condensate will be achieved, which will satisfy the growing demand for these products in the domestic market.

Within the framework of this project, 53 foreign contracts were signed for $ 13.9 million and 53 local contracts for 115.2 billion soums for the supply of equipment, of which 51% have already been delivered.

To date, the General Contractor, LLC Muborakneftgazmontazh, has completed 56.0% of construction work. Completion of construction and installation work is scheduled for November this year.
