Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Development Agency Discusses Cooperation and Innovation Projects with EU

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 February 2026, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, held a working meeting with the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar, and project manager Akmal Rustamov.

During the meeting, the parties engaged in a focused exchange of views on the EU’s research and innovation program Horizon Europe, discussing opportunities for its application in the pharmaceutical sector, development prospects, and anticipated outcomes.

They also addressed issues related to implementing investment projects, localizing production, and gradually expanding bilateral cooperation.

Special attention was given to the presentation of capabilities offered by the Tashkent Pharma Park innovation-driven scientific and industrial pharmaceutical cluster, including its modern research and production infrastructure.

Following the discussion, both sides expressed mutual interest in developing joint projects, enhancing practical cooperation, and implementing initiatives in science, education, and innovation within the pharmaceutical industry.
