Uzbekistan’s GDP makes up 30.5 trln. soums in 1Q

Uzbekistan produced industrial products for 19.1 trillion soums in January-March 2015, which grew by 7.9% compared to the same period of 2014.

In January-March 2015, the volume of production of agriculture goods rose by 6.3% year-on-year and reached 3.1 trillion soums.

The investments into fixed capital reached 6.7 trillion soums or grew by 8.7% year-on-year in the reporting period. The volume of investments into fixed capital in US dollar equivalent reached US$2.7 billion in the first quarter of 2015, which rose by 8.4% year-on-year.

The volume of constructions works increased by 18.9% year-on-year in January-March 2015 and reached 4.3 trillion soums.

About 291.1 million tonnes of freight were transported in Uzbekistan in the first three months of 2015, which rose by 4.2% year-on-year. The freight turnover reached 17.7 billion tonnes-km.

Passenger transportation hit 1.521 billion people in January-March 2015. The growth rate made up 3.4% year-on-year. The passenger turnover rose by 5.1% to 20. 765 billion passenger-km.

Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up 14.2 trillion soums in Janaury-March 2015, which grew by 15.2% year-on-year. The volume of paid services rose by 13.1% year-on-year to 18.2 trillion soums in January-March 2015.

In the reporting period, foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan exceeded US$6.8 billion and rose by 5.5% year-on-year.

The exports of Uzbekistan reached US$3.5 billion (+13.9% year-on-year) and imports – US$3.3 billion (-2%). Foreign trade surplus reached US$168 million.
