Uzbekistan’s Aviation Specialists Confirm ICAO Level 6 (Expert) for the First Time

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — For the first time in the history of the Republic of Uzbekistan, aviation specialists have successfully confirmed the highest level of proficiency in Aviation English, ICAO Level 6 (Expert), following an independent European assessment conducted in accordance with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Employees of Uzbekistan Airways demonstrated a high level of professionalism and flawless command of Aviation English, meeting the most stringent international standards.

The team of aviation raters included Rustam Buribaev, a Boeing 787 aircraft commander, and Ramit Iskhakov, an Airbus A320 aircraft commander. Linguistic support and assessment were provided by rater-linguists from the Uzbekistan Airways Training Center, including Inna Abdullaeva, Shakhnoza Saidova, and Lyudmila Savchenko.

The awarding of ICAO Level 6 (Expert) confirms the specialists’ ability to conduct professional and radiotelephony communication effectively, accurately, and confidently in routine, non-standard, and emergency situations, which is a key element of flight safety.

This achievement represents a significant contribution to strengthening flight safety, enhancing the international standing of Uzbekistan’s civil aviation sector, and developing the national language training system in full compliance with ICAO and EASA standards.
