Uzbekistan’s Annual Inflation Reaches 7.5% in November
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In November 2025, Uzbekistan’s overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.7% month-on-month, lower than the 0.9% recorded in the same month last year, according to the national statistics agency. On an annual basis, inflation amounted to 7.5%, down from 11.0% in November 2024. Since the beginning of the year, prices have increased by 6.4%, the National Statistics Committee reported.
The average monthly CPI growth from January to November slowed to 0.6% compared with 0.8% in the previous year. Excluding volatile fruit and vegetable prices, monthly inflation stood at 0.3%.
Food: Price Spikes in Vegetables, Declines in Rice and Sugar
Within the food sector, trends were mixed. Eggs rose by 2.4%, dairy products by 0.8%, and vegetable oils and flour by 0.5%. Meat prices also showed moderate growth: lamb increased by 0.8%, beef by 0.3–0.5%.
At the same time, rice fell by 4.5%, sugar by 2.7%, and chicken by 1.2%.
The most noticeable changes were in seasonal vegetable prices: cucumbers nearly doubled (+96%), tomatoes rose by 82%, and bell peppers by 61%. Among fruits and other vegetables, declines were observed in carrots (-26%), lemons (-3.1%), onions (-2.5%), and cabbage (-1.7%).
Housing and Utilities Remain Key Inflation Drivers
Higher tariffs for heating and hot water in some regions became a significant factor in price growth: heating services rose on average by 7.3%, and hot water by 9%. Since the beginning of the year, increases have reached 11.5% and 11.9%, respectively.
Transport: Gasoline Rises, Airfares Fall
Gasoline prices increased by 1.7% over the month. Prices per liter were as follows: AI-80 at 8,500–9,800 soms, AI-91/92 at 10,500–13,300 soms, and AI-100 up to 20,500 soms. Propane rose by 7.4%, while methane decreased by 0.2%.
Airfares fell by 1.1% on both domestic and international flights. Long-distance train tickets declined by 0.2%.
Services: Moderate Growth, Except for Money Transfers
Paid services overall increased by 0.3%. Tutoring and language courses rose by 0.5–0.6%. Prices in the catering sector increased by up to 0.7%. The only decrease was in financial services — fees for money transfers fell by 1.6%.
Contribution Structure: Food Remains the Main Factor
The largest contribution to the monthly CPI growth came from food (+0.43 percentage points, or 65% of the total effect). Housing and utilities and clothing and footwear added another 0.14 percentage points. The combined contribution of all other categories amounted to 0.09 percentage points.
From January to November, the main drivers of inflation were housing and utilities, food, transport, everyday goods and services, and healthcare — their total contribution is estimated at 5.37 percentage points, or 84.6% of overall growth.
