Uzbekistan Withdraws Medflora Medical Alcohol Over Standard Violations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Authorities in Uzbekistan have decided to withdraw from circulation and destroy medical ethyl alcohol produced by Medflora. This was reported by the press service of the Center for Pharmaceutical Product Safety.
According to the statement, the 70% medical alcohol produced by Medflora in February 2022 (batch 210222) does not meet regulatory documentation requirements.
Laboratory tests revealed deviations from established quality standards. In addition, the inspection found that the company does not hold a valid GMP certificate under the O‘z DSt 2766:2018 standard, lacks a license for drug production, and the validity of its state registration certificate has expired.
Due to these violations, the use of this product in medical practice must be immediately ceased.
All batches of the product are to be withdrawn from circulation and destroyed according to established procedures. The Center emphasized that storing, transporting, or selling substandard, falsified, or unregistered medicines is prohibited by law and constitutes a serious violation of licensing requirements, which may result in license revocation.
