Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 January 2021, an online seminar was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the creation of joint Uzbek-Ukrainian agricultural enterprises in Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine G. Chizhikov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A. Ikramov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Uzbekistan N. Doroshenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Ukraine A. Kurmanov, as well as representatives responsible ministries and departments.
During the seminar, President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry G. Chizhikov made a welcoming speech where he noted that Uzbekistan and Ukraine interact well with each other. “Both countries are changing very dynamically, including the structure of the economy; a large number of new enterprises, new interests appear, and the main task is to attract attention and revive new interest in interaction between countries,” said Gennady Chizhikov.
Speaking, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A. Ikramov noted that the proximity of the positions of the two countries on regional and international issues serves as the foundation for the development of bilateral ties. In this regard, Uzbekistan and Ukraine intend to intensify joint efforts to expand and diversify mutual trade and ensure the growth of its volumes up to US$1 billion per year in the near future.
Further, presentations of representatives of responsible ministries and departments in the agro-industrial sphere were presented, as well as topical issues were discussed.
Following the seminar, the parties expressed confidence that the voiced proposals would make a significant contribution to the development and strengthening of cooperation between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Ukraine, as well as to further promote the implementation of joint projects.
