Uzbekistan to supply peanuts to Belarus

The visit was organized at assistance of the Embassy of Belarus and Uzagroexport.

The members of the Belarusian delegation familiarized themselves with the farms and distribution centers of Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya and Namangan regions. The delegation expressed readiness to establish the long-term cooperation with the producers of peanuts from Uzbekistan.

Uzagroexport and Startfrukt signed a bilateral export contract on supply of peanuts from Uzbekistan to Belarus. It is planned to supply peanuts to Belarus in January 2017.

In future, the sides are planning to expand assortment and volume of supplied fruits and vegetables, Uzagroexport said.

Startfrukt is the regionally-oriented investment company, which cooperates with the state institutes of Belarus to create sustainable business. The peanut plant of Startfrukt processes from 2,000 to 5,000 tonnes of peanuts a year.
