Uzbekistan to introduce ID-cards stage-by-stage

This is envisaged with the state program of Uzbekistan for 2018, which was approved by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 22 January.

Within the programme, it is panned to adopt measures to simplify exit of the citizens to foreign countries.

According to the programme, a draft legal acts, envisaging corresponding changes, should be developed till 20 April 2018.

Earlier, the draft programme, published for discussion, proposed to recognize national passport as foreign travel passport and introduce ID-cards for internal use. The wording of this clause was changed in approved document.
