Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan took the first place in the world in terms of the volume of gold sold in the third quarter of 2020. It was reported by the World Gold Council (WGC).

According to the Council, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan sold 35 tonnes of gold in the third quarter. In July alone, Uzbekistan sold 11.6 tonnes of gold.

Turkey ranked second in terms of gold sold in the third quarter of 2020. During the reporting period, the country sold 22 tonnes of gold.

In the third quarter of 2020, according to the Council, Russia sold 1,2 tonnes of gold.
