Uzbekistan, Tajikistan sign legal assistance agreement

The document was signed after negotiations between the Prosecutor-General of Uzbekistan Otabek Murodov and his Tajik counterpart Yusuf Rakhmon.

The delegation of Tajikistan received information on conducted measures to reform judicial-legal system, liberalization of criminal legislation, improvement of activities of law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan.

It was underlined special role of prosecutors bodies in forming legal state, improving legal culture in the society, developing favourable conditions for business entities.

Representatives of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discussed issues of improving efficiency of cooperation in fighting terrorism and religious extremism, measures to ensure security and rule of law in the region through creation of concrete mechanism.

The Prosecutor-General of Tajikistan Yusuf Rakhmon underlined that the meeting will give impetus to further developing and strengthening partnership relations between two nations.
