Uzbekistan Subsidizes Air Transport of Meat to Stabilize Prices
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree “On Additional Measures to Support the Supply of Essential Food Products to the Population.”
The document aims to stabilize meat prices and ensure uninterrupted supply to the domestic market.
According to the decree, from 1 April to 1 August 2026, the state will reimburse 50% of air transport costs for meat from small and large livestock, with a maximum compensation rate of 80 cents per kilogram (9,766.46 soums at the current exchange rate).
Additionally, the decree provides compensation of 10% of the cost of imported pedigree cattle brought into the country by air. The maximum payment for a single animal will not exceed 4 million soums.
Subsidy payments will be managed by the Agency for Payments in the Agricultural Sector, established in November 2025.
