Uzbekistan Studies Austrian Composite Pipe Technologies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is studying advanced Austrian technologies for the production of composite pipes as part of efforts to modernize the country’s gas infrastructure.
A delegation led by Mahmoudjon Yakubov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Hududgazta’minot, visited the Fibron Pipe plant in the Austrian city of Sankt Valentin to ознакомиться with cutting-edge manufacturing processes.
During the visit, specialists examined the full production cycle, from the processing of granular raw materials to the output of high-tech finished products. All production lines and equipment at the plant are proprietary developments of Fibron Pipe, while the manufacturing technology is protected by international patents and represents a unique industrial know-how.
The production process is managed using artificial intelligence technologies, minimizing human involvement and ensuring consistently high product quality—an important factor for safety and reliability in the gas sector.
The plant produces pipes designed to withstand operating pressures ranging from 33 to 90 bar. Laboratory tests confirm their durability at pressures of up to 600–700 bar, with long-term testing indicating a service life of at least 50 years.
As part of the visit, laboratory testing was conducted on a batch of composite pipes intended for delivery to Uzbekistan under a pilot project. The results confirmed the product’s readiness for integration into the country’s gas distribution system.
Subject to successful outcomes, the parties are considering the establishment of a joint venture and the localization of production using local raw materials.
