Uzbekistan strengthens obligations of gas and power suppliers

President of Uzbekistan Islam Kaimov approved a law “On introduction of changes to the article 477 of the Civil Code of Uzbekistan” on 20 April 2012.
The document was passed by the Legislative Chamber on 15 February 2012 and approved by the Senate on 23 March 2012.
The document is directed at strengthening responsibility of responsible persons of power and gas supplying enterprises.
According to the document, power and gas supplying enterprises will have to compensate damages to their clients due to non-execution of the contracts.
