Uzbekistan signs contracts for US$1bn at International Fruit and Vegetable Fair

Uzbekistan signed 355 contracts for US$1.009 billion in the result of the First International Fruit and Vegetable Fair, which was held in Tashkent on 8-9 November 2016, the press service of Uzagroexport (Uzbek Agriculture Export) said.
According to the Uzbek company, in line with the agreements Uzbekistan will export for 1.421 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables. At the same time, Uzbekistan will export 120,000 tonnes of products in 2016.
About 32% of total products, which will be exported, make up vegetables, 17% - grape, 25% - fruits, 13% - dried and processed products, 13% - legumes and 1% - melons.
In the result of the fair, Uzbekistan expanded geography of exports of fruits and vegetables. Uzbekistan signed direct contracts on supply of fruits and vegetables to Germany, Scotland, Switzerland, Great Britain, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Russia, China, Korea, Japan, Iraq, UAE and Turkey.
Over 200 representatives of business circles from 33 countries of the world attended the fair, the organizers said.
