Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Currently, cooperation between the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is characterized by active development in a wide range of areas, including joint projects in the fields of industry, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, as well as initiatives to promote interregional cooperation.

All these areas are being worked out within the framework of the Project Office, created by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan in conjunction with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation - targeted meetings of ministries and departments of the two countries are organized, within which practical aspects of cooperation of potential counterparties are discussed.

Another such event was the visit of a delegation of Russian pharmaceutical companies, during which the Russian side plans to study promising directions for the development of intra-industry cooperation, get acquainted with the plans for the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan, conduct an analysis and assessment of the production, technological and economic capabilities of Uzbek pharmaceutical companies, on the basis of which among Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers will identify potential partners for the implementation of investment projects.

Within the framework of the visit, on 27 January, an extended meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the leadership of Russian pharmaceutical companies with the heads of relevant ministries and departments of Uzbekistan took place.

The meeting discussed a wide range of practical aspects of cooperation, in particular, the rules and procedures for the procurement and use of medicines, medical equipment and other medical products in force in medical institutions of Uzbekistan.

The management and experts of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Center for the Development of Investment Projects under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, as well as the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry acquainted the guests with the current state and promising areas for the development of the sphere, the existing benefits, preferences, regulatory measures and conditions aimed at attraction of foreign companies for joint implementation of projects, lists of manufactured and imported medicines.

Specific project proposals developed to attract Russian companies to the implementation of joint projects were considered, and detailed information was provided on specialized investment and production sites created in the Republic, such as the innovative research and production cluster Tashkent Pharma Park, as well as a number of free economic zones ( FEZ), specializing in the production of pharmaceutical products.

In the near future, the delegation will continue to work on establishing direct contacts with Uzbek entrepreneurs, identifying specific project proposals for the subsequent development of mechanisms for cooperation with subjects of the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan. During the visit of the delegation in the Republic, it is planned to hold a number of meetings and negotiations in the B2B format with representatives of more than 25 Uzbek pharmaceutical companies with visits to enterprises in various regions of the country.
