Uzbekistan Reconstructs and Repairs 21,500 km of Roads in 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Uzbekistan carried out extensive reconstruction and repair work on 21,500 kilometers of roads across the country.
As a result, 7,900 km of public roads were improved, while 13,600 km of urban and rural highways underwent repair and gravel work.
To actively involve the private sector in road operation and maintenance, 860 km of highways were outsourced to private entrepreneurs. Additionally, 320 bridge structures were repaired and restored, ensuring a stable regional transport infrastructure.
Preparations continue for the construction of key toll highways in the country. For the Tashkent–Andijan route, the first stage of tender procedures has been completed, with the second stage of contractor selection currently underway.
For the Tashkent–Samarkand toll road, partner selection and development of investment proposals are ongoing.
These initiatives aim to modernize the country’s transport system, enhance safety, and attract private investment to further develop Uzbekistan’s road infrastructure.
