Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the beginning of March, The Heritage Foundation published the Index of Economic Freedom 2021 report.

According to the report, Uzbekistan ranked 108th place with 58.3 points among 184 countries (178 of which ranked). It has improved by 6 points with current performance in comparison with 114 places (57.2 points) in the previous year.

The positive change was followed by an increase of 16.6 points in "Judicial Effectiveness" indicator and by 5.2 points in the "Government Spending" indicator, as well as positive changes in other indicators.

The best change among the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States was noted by the Republic of Tajikistan, which rose from 155th place last year to 134th place. Among the member countries, only the Republic of Belarus decreased by 7 points compared to last year.
