The international conference on the settlement of the situation in Afghanistan “The peace process, security cooperation and regional cooperation” will be held in Tashkent on 26-27 March 2018.

“We believe that Uzbekistan plays a historical role in the stability of Afghanistan,” Nauert said during a briefing in Washington. She added that this conference can be largely considered the return of Uzbekistan to the international arena.

Heather Nauert said that the US delegation will attend a conference on Afghanistan in Tashkent.

The representative of the State Department said that the conference will serve as the coordination of international efforts to support the actions of the Afghan government to achieve peace in the country.
