Uzbekistan Plans to Increase Exports to US$45 Billion by 2030
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 1 December, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on measures to enhance the country’s export potential and simplify entrepreneurs’ access to government services.
Uzbekistan aims to raise its export volume to US$45 billion by 2030.
Achieving this target requires entering new high-margin markets and moving beyond previous export directions.
The analysis of foreign demand identified promising segments and products sought in global markets, as well as significant growth potential in industries such as construction materials, light industry, electrical engineering, food and chemical production, mechanical engineering, and metallurgy.
It was noted that expanding export opportunities requires strengthening trade and economic ties with potential markets, as well as upgrading infrastructure and border crossing capacities to meet increasing export and import volumes.
Responsible officials provided information on the current positions of Uzbek goods abroad, the most in-demand products, joint projects with foreign partners, and ongoing work to diversify export directions. The President instructed that the existing potential be fully realized, the geographic scope of exports expanded, and external trade procedures simplified.
The presentation highlighted that currently 81 government agencies provide entrepreneurs with 739 types of services.
However, 576 of these are delivered separately, forcing businesses to interact with dozens of agencies and gather numerous documents. For example, launching a meat production facility requires completing 17 procedures across 10 institutions.
At present, there is also no single service platform where entrepreneurs can receive advisory support on accounting, taxation, export procedures, and certification.
It was proposed to integrate these services with banks, insurance companies, exchanges, brokerage and logistics operators, as well as business education programs.
In this context, the creation of “Business Hamroh” centers was proposed, bringing together government and private services for entrepreneurs in one location.
According to the presented plan, these centers will operate under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, providing a full range of services on a “single-window” principle via a unified electronic platform. A 24/7 call center will also be established to process inquiries.
The President supported the initiative and emphasized that the centers should cover the entire business support cycle — from company registration and operational organization to product sales and export.
Relevant government agencies have been given corresponding instructions to implement these measures.
