Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan plans to extend the movement of high-speed Afrosiyob trains to Khorezm region.

The government of Uzbekistan intends to electrify the Bukhara-Urgench-Khiva railway section in 2021-2025.

According to the Yangi Uzbekistan newspaper, within the framework of this project, it is planned to electrify 465.5 km of the railway.

After the completion of this project, conditions will be created for the movement of high-speed Afrosiyob trains to Khorezm region.

Now high-speed Afrosiyob trains operate from Tashkent to Samarkand, Bukhara and Karshi.
