Uzbekistan Joins Turkic Forensic Science Network
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —From 2 to 4 April 2026, Baku, Azerbaijan hosted an event establishing the Turkic Forensic Science Network (TFSN) among forensic institutions of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States. A memorandum formalizing the creation of the network was signed during the meeting.
A delegation from Uzbekistan’s forensic institutions participated, including the Kh. Suleymanov Republican Forensic Center, which became a founding and strategic member of the network.
The center’s director, A. Khalilov, held meetings with leaders of forensic institutions from participating countries, presenting information on ongoing reforms and achievements in Uzbekistan, and discussing prospects for broad cooperation.
Discussions resulted in agreements on full digitalization of forensic activities, the use of artificial intelligence, countering cybercrime and synthetic drugs, and conducting professional internships for staff.
Additionally, meetings were held with the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan to discuss further steps for bilateral cooperation and the implementation of the 2025–2027 Action Plan between the Kh. Suleymanov Republican Forensic Center and the Azerbaijani center. An agreement was reached to continue active engagement.
It was recalled that on 23 August 2024, during the first session of the Interstate High Council between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, a memorandum on cooperation goals between the two centers was signed, followed by the 2025–2027 Action Plan on March 3, 2025, which outlines areas for joint work and experience sharing.
