Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan joined the international agreement “On dry ports” of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on joining the international treaty. The Dry Ports Agreement was signed in Bangkok (Thailand) on 1 May 2013.

The document is aimed at developing uniform principles for the use of international logistics centers, which will help increase the efficiency of goods transportation in the Asia-Pacific region.

Participation in this agreement will allow the logistics complexes of Uzbekistan to obtain the status of dry ports of international importance.

The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan is the competent authorized body for the implementation of this agreement.
