Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Italy technoparks held a virtual meeting on the initiative of the Ministry of Innovative Development with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan.

It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, Yashnabad Innovation Technopark and Italy’s InnovUp Association, as well as Italy – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce.

The development of international cooperation between the two countries in the innovative infrastructures, in particular, technology parks, innovation centers, science parks, implementation of joint programs and promising start-up projects were discussed at the event.

The parties expressed interest in establishing cooperation in new projects and enhancing support for startups, exchange programs, and PPP cooperation.

Information was provided on the Draft Law of Uzbekistan “On Startups”, developed by the Ministry of Innovative Development. The Italian side expressed its readiness to contribute to further improvement of the draft law.

An agreement was reached on the development and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Yashnabad Innovative Technopark under the Ministry of Innovative Development and Italy’s InnovUp Association.
