Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - At the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 19 December negotiations were held with representatives of South Korean companies Korea Energy Agency (KEA) and Korea Industrial Consulting Center (KICC).
During the meeting, the parties noted the successfully implemented joint projects in the energy sector and expressed hope for continued further cooperation.
Representatives of Korean companies noted the intention of the Republic of Korea to allocate grant funds at an average of US$200,000 a year starting from 2020 in support of the development of the energy sector in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the Korean partners paid special attention to the issue of supporting Uzbekistan in training personnel in the field of energy efficiency.
It was also noted that KICC prepared a promising feasibility study project in the field of energy efficiency, which could become another area of cooperation.
The parties came to the conclusion that it is advisable to develop a memorandum indicating the list of directions and promising projects for further cooperation, which is planned to be signed before February 2020.
