According to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, the volume of production of these goods in total industrial output made up 15.8% in nine months of 2016 against 14.7% in the same period of 2015.
The production of textile products rose by 9%, clothes – 22.3% and leather products – 35.1% in the reporting period.
The highest growth of production of these goods was observed in Andijan region (12.2%), Tashkent city (11.9%), Ferghana region (11.8%), Samarkand region (10.3%), Tashkent region (8.4%).
Share of small businesses in production of textile products, clothes and leather goods reached 66.1%, State Statistics Committee said.
Currently, there are 3,047 textile enterprises, 4,774 enterprises on production of clothes and 691 enterprises on production of leather products. In nine months of 2016, some 966 new enterprises were created in this sector.
