Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, on 14 October, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov met with the Ambassador of Hungary to the Republic of Uzbekistan Peter Santo.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of signing the Agreement of the Uzbek-Hungarian Business Council within the framework of the planned Uzbek-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission, as well as holding a meeting of the Business Council.
Following the participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the seventh summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (CCTS on 15 October 2019, Baku), it was instructed to create an Uzbek-Hungarian Business Council in order to develop bilateral trade and business relations. On 16 July 2020 during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó to Tashkent, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov.
During the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and the Hungarian Foreign Ministry announced his readiness to sign an Agreement on the establishment of the Uzbek-Hungarian Business Council in November within the framework of the planned IGC.
During the negotiations, an exchange of views on the prospects of Uzbek-Hungarian relations in trade, economic and investment spheres took place.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed the presence of a huge potential for further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, discussed mechanisms for increasing the volume of bilateral trade.
