Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - From 11 to 13 December, Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Abidov, as part of the Uzbek delegation, visited Brussels (Belgium), where he took part in the fourth round of negotiations with representatives of the European Commission on the draft Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
The European delegation was led by P. Surmelis, Director of the Directorate General of the European Commission for Trade Development.
During the fourth round of negotiations, the details of the trade part of the Agreement were discussed related to the sale of goods, means of trade protection, intellectual property, mechanisms for ensuring healthy competition, transparency of public procurement, investment activities and the provision of services, as well as the resolution of legal disputes.
It is worth noting that this part of the Agreement will also include chapters related to sanitary and phytosanitary measures, technical barriers to trade, customs issues, state enterprises, capital flows, trade and sustainable development.
The negotiation process on the draft of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement began in February 2019 in Tashkent.
