Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Presidential Decree "On further improvement of the system of knowledge and innovation, as well as the provision of modern services in agriculture" was signed.

According to the Decree, a National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture is being established under the Ministry of Agriculture.

The National Center coordinates the research activities of state scientific and HEU of all types, carried out in the direction of agriculture.

A Coordination Council was formed to ensure close integration of education, science and production in the field of agriculture.

Also, the following will be created:

- in 2021–2022, the Republican Center of Agricultural Services, centers of agricultural services of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions of the National Center;

- starting from 2022, the agricultural service centers of the districts of the National Center will be phased in rural areas.

In addition, from 1 March 2021, as an experiment, small scientific and innovative enterprises will be created in scientific research institutions of the National Center system with the involvement of business entities.

The decree approved the Concept for the Priority Development of the Knowledge and Innovation System in Agriculture in 2021–2025.

Within the framework of the Concept, in particular, it is envisaged to establish a system for the provision of more than 100 services at the National Center.
