Uzbekistan Establishes Multifunctional Inclusive Resource Schools

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — By government resolution, measures have been approved to provide children with special educational needs access to quality education, support their integration into society, and foster individual development.

In Tashkent, a Multifunctional Inclusive Resource Center will be established within the National Agency for Social Protection, while in Karakalpakstan and other regions, one multifunctional inclusive resource school will be created based on specialized schools or boarding schools for children with special educational needs.

Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, the Inclusive Center will conduct experimental activities as an inclusive-correctional school.

The school will organize inclusive classes for primary grades, which will include student adaptation, the development of learning and communication skills, as well as corrective and supplementary lessons based on individual education plans.

For students with disabilities attending inclusive classes in general education schools, the Inclusive Center will provide additional subject lessons, vocational training, and remedial sessions.

From 1 January 2027, the center will implement a system for professional certification of special educators in public educational institutions.

Starting from the 2027/2028 academic year, the activities of Inclusive Schools will be gradually introduced across the regions.
