Uzbekistan Discusses Radiation Medicine and Oncology Projects with IAEA

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A coordination meeting on the implementation of technical cooperation projects in Uzbekistan’s healthcare sector was held in Vienna from 17 to 19 February, organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to Dunyo news agency.

During the sessions, participants discussed the development of radiation medicine for cancer treatment, the modernization of radiotherapy infrastructure, the training of national personnel, and issues related to nuclear and physical safety of the research reactor.

The parties confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation aimed at improving the quality of oncology care for the population and strengthening Uzbekistan’s capabilities in the peaceful use of atomic energy.
