Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 September 2020, Uzbekistan imported 20,200 tonnes of tea from 22 foreign countries worth US$26.7 million. Compared to the corresponding period of last year, the volume of imports decreased by 416.2 tonnes.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the countries from which Uzbekistan imported the largest amount of tea over the past eight months:

China – 16,100 tonnes

Kenya – 1,600 tonnes

Vietnam - 920.4 tonnes

Iran - 369.1 tonnes

Sri Lanka - 280.9 tonnes

India - 267.3 tonnes

Russia - 173 tonnes

UAE - 130 tonnes

According to the information, in 2019, Uzbekistan produced 23,500 tonnes of tea.
