Uzbekistan Continues Issuance of Eco-Stickers for Vehicles under Environmental Legislation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan continues implementing measures to gradually restrict the operation of vehicles that do not meet environmental standards and to reduce their negative impact on air quality.
These measures are being carried out in accordance with environmental legislation and Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 750.
A working group led by Kh. Adilov, Head of the Department for Supervision of Compliance with Environmental, Nature Protection, and Forestry Legislation of the General Prosecutor’s Office, conducts inspections and analytical assessments.
Particular attention is paid to the process of issuing eco-stickers for vehicles. In Tashkent, procedures for printing and distributing stickers at Registration and Examination Department No. 4 of the City Traffic Safety Directorate have been studied.
According to inspections, over 55,000 applications for eco-stickers have been submitted via the my.gov.uz portal, with more than 45,000 stickers produced and prepared for distribution. The remaining applications are being processed according to schedule.
In the capital, more than 52,000 vehicles over 40 years old are in operation. Over 10,000 of these vehicles have undergone expedited technical inspection and received eco-stickers.
The General Prosecutor’s Office emphasizes that work in this area will continue to improve the environmental situation and protect public health.
