Uzbekistan Civil Forum “Human Rights and mutual cooperation” takes place in Tashkent

The event was organized within a visit of the delegation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) led by United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid bin Ra’ad Zeid al-Hussein. It was attended by about 50 representatives of NGOs and civil society.

Uzbekistan Civil Forum “Human Rights and mutual cooperation” was organized to exchange opinion and develop proposals on protection of human rights and freedoms.

During the event, the participants discussed role of NGOs and civil society in Uzbekistan and proposals on further developing of their relations. They also considered participation of NGOs in realization of the state programmes and protection of human rights, combating corruptions, etc.

The participants also considered perspectives of cooperation with the OHCHR.
