Uzbekistan can ban incandescent lamps

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan can ban issue of incandescent lamps with the power of over 40 watts (HS code 8539 22 900 0, 8539 29 920 0, 8539 29 980 0).

This is measure envisaged by draft resolution of the President “On programme on reducing energy consumption, introduction of energy saving technologies and systems in sectors of economy and social spheres for 2015-2019”.

The draft project was developed by Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan and placed to Single state interactive services portal for discussion.

According to the document, Uzbekistan is planning to ban issue of incandescent lamps with the power of over 40 watts (HS code 8539 22 900 0, 8539 29 920 0, 8539 29 980 0) from 1 September 2015, excluding cases, when producers of technological equipment, educational, medical and other special equipment need incandescent lamps.

The document said that incandescent lamps with power of over 40 watts placed to “temporary storage” and “customs warehouse” till 1 September 2015 can be issued to free circulation till 1 October 2015 and realized in retail trade till 1 January 2016.
