Uzbekistan Announces Up to Four Holiday Days Off

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Residents of Uzbekistan will benefit from up to four consecutive days off due to the celebration of Eid al-Fitr and Navruz, according to the Ministry of Justice’s Telegram channel.

Under the schedule, 20 March has been declared a public holiday in observance of Eid al-Fitr. 21 March, which falls on a Saturday, will be a non-working day due to Navruz, while 22 March (Sunday) is also a regular day off.

An additional day off on 23 March has been designated for employees working a five-day week. This adjustment is due to the overlap of a public holiday with a weekend.

At the same time, 23 March will remain a working day for employees on a six-day work schedule.

Traditionally, the date of Eid al-Fitr is first announced by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, followed by a presidential decree formalizing public holidays.
