Uzbekistan and Türkiye Discuss Ataturk University Partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 April 2026, the Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Azizov, held a meeting with the Rector of Türkiye’s Ataturk University, Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu.
Ataturk University is one of Türkiye’s leading educational and research institutions, possessing high potential in the fields of medicine, pharmacology, genetics, biotechnology, clinical research, and life sciences. With a modern infrastructure and over 90,000 students, the university stands as one of the largest higher education institutions in the country.
During the negotiations, representatives of the Turkish university provided a detailed account of their activities in higher education, scientific research, and innovation, specifically in pharmacology, genetics, biomedicine, and vaccine development. They expressed a strong interest in expanding international cooperation, launching joint educational programs, exchanging expertise, and implementing collaborative scientific projects in the future.
The Agency shared information regarding the operations of the Pharmaceutical Technical University and the various research institutes within the Agency's system. The discussion also covered ongoing projects in biopharmaceuticals, as well as the capacity for conducting clinical and preclinical trials in Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation in education, science, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and clinical research. They agreed to promote joint educational and research projects and to maintain a regular dialogue moving forward.
