Uzbekistan and Turkish Business Community Agree to Simplify Conditions for Investors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 March, a regular working group meeting was held via videoconference, bringing together officials from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance and leading representatives of the Turkish business community.

The meeting continued a structured dialogue aimed at strengthening the investment climate and providing prompt support to foreign investors.

Participants included Suavi Önal, chief trade advisor at the Turkish Embassy in Tashkent, and leaders of major business associations: O. Ozguven (DEİK), A. Aydogmus (DTİK), D. Erbaş (UTİD), S. Kelebek (MÜSİAD), and E. Bulut (ASKON).

The central focus was the direct interaction platform between Uzbek government bodies and Turkish entrepreneurs, designed to address business concerns efficiently and ensure seamless communication with relevant agencies.

Discussions covered expanding trade and economic cooperation, implementing high-tech projects, sharing management expertise, and supporting both existing Turkish companies in Uzbekistan and new market entrants. Associations presented proposals to optimize tax, customs, and banking procedures and enhance investor services.

Since the previous meeting on 19 January, Uzbek authorities held 25 meetings with representatives of 30 companies and associations, resolving issues for about 20 Turkish enterprises. Turkish business leaders praised Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms to improve the investment environment.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expand practical partnerships, increase joint production initiatives, and elevate bilateral economic relations to a higher level.
