Uzbekistan and the EU Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Digitalization, Transport, and Water Management

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 February, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with Charlotte Adrian, Head of the Central Asia and Afghanistan Unit at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), and Toivo Klaar, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union within the framework of ongoing joint projects. Particular attention was given to issues related to digitalization, transport, the use of critical raw materials, and water resource management.

Views were exchanged on expanding the partnership through more active use of existing dialogue platforms and business cooperation mechanisms involving the EU, Uzbekistan, and the countries of Central Asia.

The sides reaffirmed their readiness to deepen practical cooperation and continue a constructive dialogue in priority areas aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial engagement.
