Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Strengthen Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan, Ismatullo Nasriddin.
During the talks, it was noted that in recent years Uzbek–Tajik relations have reached a qualitatively new level.
Political dialogue has intensified, while trade and economic, investment, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation continue to expand steadily.
Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the development of inter-parliamentary ties.
The importance of exchanging experience in legislative activities, promoting joint initiatives, and continuing constructive dialogue at international parliamentary platforms was emphasized.
The sides also underlined the need to further intensify interregional cooperation and strengthen interaction with local kengashes as part of the practical implementation of programs of the commissions for cooperation between the upper chambers of the parliaments of the two countries.
