Uzbekistan and Spain Discuss Agricultural Cooperation at Business Forum in Madrid
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Uzbek-Spanish business forum was held in Madrid with the participation of representatives from business communities and government institutions of both countries. The event showcased Uzbekistan’s investment and export potential.
The forum brought together representatives of leading companies from Uzbekistan and Spain, as well as more than 110 entrepreneurs. Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture also took part in the discussions.
During the negotiations, the parties explored investment opportunities in the agro-industrial sector and prospects for implementing joint projects.
Spanish companies presented several initiatives to expand cooperation. In particular, Almar Water Solutions introduced a project to build a water treatment complex in the Samarkand region. Meanwhile, New Greenhouses Projects proposed the creation of high-tech greenhouse farms in the Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions.
Following the forum, four cooperation documents were signed, along with an export contract for the supply of dried fruits, legumes, nuts, and other agricultural products from Uzbekistan to Spain.
In addition, plans include signing a cooperation memorandum with Grupo Europeo de Exclusivas de Publicidad, S.A. (GEDEPSA) to implement an investment project for olive cultivation and processing in Uzbekistan, as well as a memorandum of understanding with WNL ENGE SL on introducing modern energy-efficient technologies in greenhouse farming.
