Uzbekistan and South Korea Expand Investment Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea are expanding investment cooperation following an official visit by an Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Ilzat Kasimov.

On the final day of the visit, a roundtable was held with representatives of 30 leading Korean companies operating in the automotive, electrical engineering, chemical, pharmaceutical, and tourism sectors. During the event, the Uzbek side presented the country’s investment potential and invited partners to participate in the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled for June 16–19.

Negotiations were also held with the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM), focusing on prospects for implementing public-private partnership projects in healthcare. In particular, discussions addressed the modernization of emergency medical services and the upgrading of healthcare infrastructure.

As part of the visit, targeted meetings were conducted with representatives of major companies. Agreements were reached with DK Consultants on the introduction of modern medical services using PPP mechanisms.

Talks with Daewoo E&C focused on the implementation of strategic initiatives in urban development and the construction of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Following the visit, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in expanding business cooperation, strengthening industrial and technological partnerships, and launching new high-tech production facilities.
