Uzbekistan and Russia Strengthen Industrial Cooperation and Joint Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting was held in Tashkent between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and Russia’s First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Kirill Lysogorsky.

The officials conducted a detailed review of current trade and economic relations and outlined directions for further industrial cooperation.

During the talks, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in systematically increasing bilateral trade volumes and deepening production integration. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding industrial cooperation and launching new joint projects to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

Statistics reflect a sustained positive trend in bilateral relations. In 2025, trade between Uzbekistan and Russia reached US$13 billion, up 8.4% compared to the previous year. Growth continued in early 2026, with January trade rising 37% year-on-year to US$1.1 billion.

An important instrument in implementing these plans has been the active work of the Joint Project Office. Both parties highlighted the effectiveness of close coordination between relevant agencies, which enables prompt resolution of interstate matters.

Preparations were also discussed for the 6th International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia,” scheduled in Tashkent on 20–22 April. The event is expected to serve as a key platform for presenting and promoting new regional cooperative initiatives.
