Uzbekistan and Russia Strengthen Cooperation in Customs Expertise
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ravshan Akramov, the Representative of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, held a meeting with Gennady Samosorov, Head of the Central Expert and Forensic Customs Administration (CEFCU) of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
During the visit, Akramov was briefed on the activities of the main divisions of the administration, its laboratory facilities, and the process of conducting expert examinations. The Uzbek side examined the organization of expert research, employee incentive systems, procedures for purchasing laboratory equipment, and methods used to assess staff performance.
The parties discussed expert training, scientific research, and interlaboratory testing, highlighting the importance of experience exchange and the implementation of advanced methods in customs expertise.
CEFCU conducts a wide range of customs and forensic examinations for Russian customs authorities. Its structure includes nine regional branches and 36 expert-forensic departments across the country. The institution employs 691 specialists, including around 400 experts, who carry out over 30,000 examinations annually.
The activity of the Uzbek SCC representative in Russia was officially launched in April 2024. This followed an agreement reached in December 2022 in Samarkand during a meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the governments of Uzbekistan and Russia, where the heads of both countries’ customs services signed a cooperation document.
