Uzbekistan and Pakistan Discuss Expansion of Pharmaceutical Cooperation at Karachi Business Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 February 2026, in Karachi, Pakistan, a dedicated session on the development of bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector was held as part of the Uzbekistan–Pakistan Business Forum.

The forum was organized at the initiative of Uzbekistan, with active coordination from Pakistani partners.

During the event, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, delivered a presentation on the investment potential of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector. His remarks detailed the opportunities offered by specialized pharmaceutical free economic zones, existing mechanisms of state support for investors, and conditions for establishing modern production facilities targeting not only the domestic market but also the markets of Central Asia, the CIS, and other international destinations.

In an open dialogue format, participants discussed positioning Uzbekistan as a key pharmaceutical hub in the region, prospects for expanding export geography, and priority directions for further cooperation between the business communities of both countries.

The forum brought together leaders and representatives of leading Pakistani pharmaceutical companies and government bodies, including Macter, Hiranis Pharmaceuticals, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, AGP Limited, Indus Pharma, Hilton Pharma, Nabiqasim Pharma, and Medisure Pharma.
