Uzbekistan and Magadan Discuss Direct Flights and Goods Export

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Jamil Maksudi, Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Alexander Basansky, First Deputy Chairman of the Magadan Regional Duma and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arbat Company.

The Arbat Group is one of Russia’s largest gold mining companies, employing over 5,000 people, including 1,200 citizens of Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics, including the potential launch of direct flights on the Tashkent–Magadan route. It was noted that such flights could, in the future, strengthen business and tourism ties and bring the two regions closer together.

The meeting also covered cooperation in the field of exports. Uzbekistan proposed supplying food and agricultural products to the Magadan markets, improving logistics and certification, and developing joint processing projects.

Special attention was given to industrial cooperation, product quality enhancement, exchange of standards and technologies, and organizing business delegation visits.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation, increase bilateral trade turnover, and implement joint projects.
