Uzbekistan and Latvia strengthen bilateral cooperation ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Riga Corner with products of Latvia will be opened in Tashkent. A corresponding decision was reached during official visit of the delegation of Tashkent led by the First Deputy Governor Nozim Husanov to Riga.

The visit took place from 15 to 19 January 2018 within implementation of “road map” for development of cooperation of Uzbekistan with Latvia in political and diplomatic sphere in 2017-2018.

The Uzbek delegation met with Riga mayor Nil Ushakov. The sides discussed issues of creating the Uzbek corner in Riga Central Market, which will present products from Uzbekistan. At the same time, Riga Corner will be opened at Oloy Dehqon Bozori in Tashkent. Oloy Dehqon Bozori and Riga Central Market signed a corresponding agreement, which will help to strengthen trade-economic, investment, tourism and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia.

The Uzbek delegation also meet with officials of Rigas Satisksme to study Riga experience in organization of parking sites and buildings. The sides reached agreement to establish cooperation to organize efficient parking in Tashkent via providing consultations, seminars and trainings.

The delegation of Tashkent met with mayor of Kaunas Visvaldas Matijošaitis. The sides discussed issues of exchange of experience in developing tourism, production of pharmaceutical products and development of free economic zones.

The Uzbek delegation visited Aconitum (production of pharmaceutical goods), Global BOD Group (solar panels production) and SABIEDRIBA (production of fish products). Officials from Tashkent also hold talks of the other companies and organizations.
