Uzbekistan and Latvia Agree to Continue Constructive Dialogue on Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 January, Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, held a meeting with Girts Jaunzems, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Uzbekistan.

During the talks, the two sides discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as prospects for developing trade and economic, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian ties, taking into account the situation in Afghanistan.

The Latvian ambassador expressed hope for further strengthening of bilateral relations and the continuation of a constructive dialogue on Afghanistan-related issues.
